Unisys Chosen by Sprint for Next-Generation Voice Messaging
SYDNEY, August 8, 2007 - Unisys has signed a five-year, multi-million dollar contract with Sprint to help the communications leader enhance its voicemail infrastructure. Unisys will develop a next-generation communications architecture that will allow Sprint the flexibility to more rapidly deploy new and innovative services for its customers.
Unisys, a leading provider of communications messaging solutions, will provide high-level consulting and systems integration services and a communications platform, which will deliver enhanced services over a unified messaging platform to Sprint’s more than 53 million customers. Unisys currently provides the communications messaging platform for a subset of the Sprint wireless network.
Unisys will be providing Sprint with a flexible, modular services architecture that will enable Sprint to provide its customers with enhanced voicemail, multimedia, entertainment, and other enhanced services on a single platform. This open, modular approach allows communications providers like Sprint to decrease the time needed to bring new services to market and enables easy integration with best-in-class applications.
Unisys chose Data Connection Limited (DCL) as one of its key partners for next generation voice messaging. DCL will be providing the voice messaging software for the communications messaging platform. Unisys is a worldwide leader in voice messaging and enhanced communications services with customers in over 40 countries and more than 150 million voicemail users.
“Unisys has a long track record of helping our communications clients build exciting new services that drive revenue and take advantage of the latest advanced technologies,” said Stuart Hartley, Partner, Communications Asia Pacific, Unisys. “We believe that the Sprint commitment to best-in-class user experiences, together with the Unisys next-generation technology, will truly benefit Sprint customers.”
